A place for everyone/everything old and new!

So wonderful be in a place where our elders are so respected!  Saw a high school aged young man walking companionably with his grandfather(?) yesterday.  They went into a little store front snack shop and sat down.  The young man went and got two iced teas and a pastry for them to share.  They sat and chatted, no cell phone, no laptop.  Just time together.  This scene was repeated everywhere.  Sometimes it was men and sometimes women.  The elderly rule the roads, no the scooters rule the roads, but the elderly are respected and given space!

So too are the old buildings respected and given space.  Check out this temple who's age would be counted in the THOUSANDS of years along side modern buildings.  Respected and sitting companionably along side it's younger companions!

We also went to a street market two blocks from a large high-end shopping mall.  The modern and the traditional cohabiting space!  I was happy to see that the meat I could purchase was so fresh!  Check out these chickens caged just below their "ready to sell" counterparts!

The people have been wonderful!  Patiently waiting for me to make what I am trying to say make sense!  I have not seen very many "westerners".  Steve and I stand out, for sure!  The people often openly stare, but in a curious demeanor, not hostile in any way!  The children seem particulary amazed by Steve who is taller than most and sports facial hair!  Loving it here!

I want to know if you are wearing a short skirt and riding a scooter yet? :o)

    Stay safe, and enjoy.
