These are pictures taken at night at the Chiang Kai-shek memorial. There are two performance arts centers with the memorial and a huge public space. People seem to gather there in the evenings (it gets dark at around 5) after it begins to cool. Heat radiates from those bricks long after the sun is gone.
National Palace Museum is pictured above. This was wonderful. Full of art moved from China to Taiwan to protect it during Cultural Revolution. I Loved it!
I hope this doesn't say, "Stupid American Tourist"!
Near the Palace Museum is the Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines. It was very interesting to see how the aborigines of Taiwan were treated very similarly to how we treated our native population in the U.S. The tribes of Taiwan have begun to get more of a voice. They are related to the aborigine populations of many of the islands in the area and have interesting and unique cultures!
