Japan, Jet lag and Jane

My first friend in Taipei!  I met Jane on the long flight from Japan to Taiwan.  My 2 hour layover turned out to be 14 hours long.  But the amazing t-shirt I am sporting was luckily available in the gift shop of the hotel Delta provided:-)

Maybe the most romantic night of my life.  What?  How did that happen?  Steve had flown to Japan to surprise me and to fly my last leg with me!  I trudged through the airport, downtrodden that it would be another day with out my wonderful husband when I spotted him standing beside the Delta "you're screwed" counter with a big grin!!  We were now offically stuck in Japan, no clean clothes, but together!  What a Keeper!!

Thanks to Jane, we have lots of great insider information for the next 10 weeks!  Jane is a med student who was returning home from a month long stint in San Diego!  Plan to get together in July when she finishes her next month of internship closer to home!

Mt. Fuji from the air!

  1. So glad to hear you have arrived safely, even if not on time. Your first adventure! What a treat that Steve could be there to share it with you, what a nice surprise. Hoping that the rest of your summer adventures don't include any more 14hr delays, but continuing to more new friends. Also, selfishly hoping that our trip over to join you includes no similar surprises. Attentively watching your blog.
